Respecting people with different abilities

The focus was on respecting everyone and the fact that we all have 'different abilities' rather than 'disabilities'.

TO end off a busy second term, St Benedict School hosted a ‘Disability Day’ for learners to take a step back and acknowledge some of the difficulties which disabled people face on a daily basis.

The school hosted visitors from Fulton School for the Deaf, The SA Guide Dog Association and the KZN Blind Cricket Association.

Learners participated in a number of activities including learning some basic sign language, painting with their feet and negotiating their way through an obstacle course blindfolded.
