Angela claims the crown

Her hopes and aspirations are to help animals in shelters, children and the elderly.

WESTVILLE’S own Angela Larna Duke was crowned Miss Crystal Princess and Public Choice Winner at the Crystal Princess pageant recently.

The pageant focused on invisible illnesses and how a person could make a difference.

The topic hit home with Angela as her sister, Kelly, suffers from an invisible illness.

As a finalist, Angela wowed the judges with her response to why she should be crowned Miss Crystal princess.

“It’s not about the crown, prizes or money. I believe in my heart that I will be the right girl to fulfill this position as I will be there to help the girls to believe in themselves. To inspire them to be brave and to believe in themselves in all that they do. To make a difference in someone’s life you don’t need to be brilliant, rich and beautiful. You just need to be caring and show love,” said the 14-year-old.

Angela is currently a finalist in the toddlers and tiaras pageant in August. When she is not walking down a runway, Angela can be found on the sports field.
