Have ‘whale’ of a time at festival

The Welcoming of the Whales festival at Brighton Beach is a perfect family outing.

THE Welcoming of the Whales Festival is on 30 June at Brighton Beach, Bluff.

Apart from the obvious pleasures of sun, surf and sand, a treasure hunt has been planned to keep kids enthralled.

WESSA.org will give educational talks about the contents of rock pools and marine life and there will be a scheduled hike through the restricted military area to the former old whaling station which was commissioned in 1908.

Winter arguably produces some of the best beach days in Durban with cool, clean and clear water so make the most of a maritime heritage and enjoy a day at the beach with whale spotting.
