Man arrested for stepmother’s murder

The 32-year-old stepson was arrested today after being on the run for four months.

PINETOWN police have arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of killing his 57 year old stepmother.

The victim went missing on 21 February  and her body was found at the bottom of a cliff in the Ekuthuleni area in Wyebank three days later.

“Police investigations revealed that the suspect killed the woman and put her in a wheelbarrow and dumped her body down the cliff. Since then the suspect has been on the run,” said Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele.

After an intense police investigation, the suspect was arrested on today, (Thursday, 21 June) in the Ekuthuleni area and is expected to appear in the Pinetown Regional Court soon.
