It’s royal show time

THE 2018 Pietermaritzburg Royal Show comes to town from 25 May to 3 June.

With promises of a jam-packed programme, from the cattle competitions, medieval battles to show-jumping events, the showgrounds will be full of action according to the Royal Show’s general manager, Terry Strachan.

“The many stalls offer tasty treats to take home, plenty of retail therapy, a bunch of country crafts, clothing, gifts, DIY gadgets and much more.”

Music takes centre stage at this year’s show with the best in SA beats. Mi Casa, Matthew Mole and Matt Gardiner are first to kick off the sound party.

On a classical note the KZN philaphonic orchestra will delight with a selection of easylistening favourites while the HindvaniFM extravaganzaand bhangra completes the Royal music line-up.

The Demolition Derby, PowasolEnduro-XSeries andMonster EnergyFlight Night will crank up the atmosphere for petrol heads.

An array of four-legged competitors vie for top spots in the cattle Gold Cup parade, the equestrian showing classes and national dog agility trials.

Expect nothing less than a palate-pleasing festival of food and drink from the over 2 000 sqm Mercury Festival of Fine Living Hall.
