Grant launches photography studio

Grant Oosthuyzen has converted the front of his home into a beautiful photographic studio.

OVER the years, the Highway community got to know the intrepid Grant Oosthuyzen as a motivational speaker, disabled sportsman and coach.

In October last year he participated in the Amashova race in an electronic wheelchair using his foot for 35km and it was a first.

Grant is never still for long and in March he joined the disabled bowls team (Boccia) that went to Bloemfontein to compete in the provincial champs.

They made it to the semi finals. One player, Zumo, made it to the finals and brought home a silver medal.

Grant recently decided to branch out with his photography by converting the front of his home into a beautiful photographic studio, fully kitted out with backdrops, lighting and various props.

His dad, Billy, said Grant is one of the first disabled persons to have a photographic studio.

Last Friday, 5 May he held the official opening at the studio where 45 photographers, models and various business people attended.

Miss KZN Top model, Karell Moonsamy, as well as Miss KZN 2018, Bongeka Kweyama, joined in the festivities.

Grant has been working with Renalda Hoffmann to market the studio and was able to get his first corporate project with VoucherPlus.

Funds from each photo shoot will assist in keeping disabled sport going, allowing him to continue coaching at the Hillcrest Government Hospital where there are many disabled patients.
