FOREST View Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 7 learner, Melissa Hough.
Melissa joined the school in Grade 2 and epitomises the word all-rounder. Her leadership skills were noticed from Grade 5 and in Grade 6 she was made the head leader for the Forest View Primary School Drummie squad, a remarkable achievement for a Grade 6 learner.
She has led the drummie team with passion and dedication as it is a sport she loves. This love culminated with Melissa receiving her KZN colours for Drum Majorettes at the end of 2017.

Melissa is also part of the prefect body at the school.
“Our prefects are carefully selected through a process that all staff at the school are involved in,” said the school’s marketing officer, Jean Montile.
Melissa applies herself in the classroom and is a strong academic learner with a great work ethic. She is polite, respectful and a pleasure to teach. She has the ability to work well in a group and encourages her peers to achieve their personal best.
Melissa has had a busy first term as she is also in the Forest View School swimming team. She has represented her school at the Durban and Districts gala and will also swim in the school league gala at Westville Boys High School.
“We wish Melissa well for her Grade 7 year and her future,” said Jean.
