Fabulous reads – Soar to super fandom with ultimate guide

Book review - Justice League: The Ultimate Guide.

Justice League: The Ultimate Guide, Penguin Random House, ISBN: 9780241288405

DECADES after they were created, DC’s comic superheroes are still a huge part of pop-culture today.
I’ve been a superhero fan for as long as I can remember. As a child growing up in the eighties, I watched in awe as Christopher Reeve took to the skies and saved Metropolis from the evil Lex Luthor.
I wore my faded Supergirl costume everywhere, and I jumped off far too many walls, firmly believing that one day I wouldn’t fall. I never did fly, and I have the scars on my knees to prove it, but my love of superheroes never faded.
As an adult, I have watched and loved every episode of Smallville, Super Girl, The Flash, and seen every superhero movie made in the past three decades.
I was first in line when Wonder Woman premiered at the cinema, and it did not disappoint.
I have collected a lot of guides, annuals and DC merchandise over the years, but I can honestly say that Justice League: The Ultimate Guide lives up to its name.

It is the ultimate of guides. Any DC fan knows that the Justice League includes some of the most loved superheroes in the comic world. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Cyborg’s histories are detailed within the beautifully illustrated pages, however, unlike some annuals and guides, Justice League The Ultimate Guide does not compromise information for illustration.
With this book, you get the best of both worlds. It is beautifully presented, but a hefty read, one that will satisfy even the most avid fan’s craving for information.
From character profiles to world information, this book has it all, and it also includes artwork from the first Justice League comic book in March 1960.
The Ultimate Guide spans almost 60 years of comic book history and is packed with information on the Justice League, the villains, and their journeys to becoming the heroes we know and love.
This book is a must-have for any DC comics fans.
