Shap Shap Cinemas’ primary goal is to educate and uplift these underserved communities by creating educational content in isiZulu that best covers the topics that people living in these areas are interested in learning about.

The tutorials cover a wide assortment of topics ranging from informative ‘self-help’ type lessons on career options, Grade 11 and Matric based subject tutoring, CV and interview preparation and cooking demonstrations; to clips that cover personal health and lifestyle related education, such as how to prevent or how to live with HIV and Aids, water and personal hygiene (Sanitation) awareness, TB awareness and how to overcome it, UIF application, sex education, antenatal classes and more.

Shap Shap Cinemas sets up ‘movie houses’ at creches, schools, clinics, town halls and Gogo’s groups to show the material that they create.
