17-month-old injured as fire guts Queensburgh home

The mother and child were both treated for burn wounds.

RESCUE Care paramedics treated a child and his mom after a fire ripped through a home on Burma Road in Queensburgh.

According to Garrith Jamieson of Rescue Care, the little boy was rescued by the Durban Fire Department and was treated for burns by advanced life support paramedics. The mother also had burns but also injured herself while trying to escape the building.

Both the mother and child were taken to hospital.
