Eagle strikes boy’s drone in Waterfall
A crowned eagle spotted a 10-year-old boy's drone and snatched it in the air.
WADE Blignaut (10) from Waterfall was quietly standing in his front garden yesterday (10 January) at about 10am doing what he loves best, flying his drone when, to his horror, he saw a crowned eagle suddenly swoop by and grab his drone.
“I received the drone last Christmas,” said Wade.
“I fly the drone to do tricks in the air. I saw the eagle flying around and could not believe it when it suddenly grabbed my drone in the air. Then I saw it drop the drone.”
Although Wade has searched the area, he has not managed to find his drone and asks if anyone does find it to please contact his mom, Tara, on 082 771 7870.
