Toy donation lights up little faces

Pinetown Highway Child And Family Welfare Society coordinator, Ellen Attwell challenged other businesses to sponsor the NGO with food and toys for the children.

PINETOWN NGO, Pinetown Highway Child and Family Welfare Society, who provides child protection services that promote, protect and enhance the safety, well-being and healthy development of children, received a generous toy donation from Pinetown McCarthy Toyota.

This came in handy for the NGO who is always in need of sponsors for children especially during the festive season.

Director of the NGO, ND Pather, said most of the children in their care have never had a their own toy and this donation will put a smile on a child’s face.

“We have so many families that depend on us and we are always in need of sponsors. We know times are tough but every little bit we get does make a difference.”

Pather also appealed for food donations as their food storerooms are almost empty.

“It’s always heart-warming to help a child in need and seeing a smile on their faces, even us as the staff learn so much from children as they are very honest. One of the things that I have learned is that when you draw a cat, you should not start with the tail,” said the delighted Pather.

McCarthy Toyota sales rep, Kingdom Maphumulo, said they are looking into working more often with the welfare and make the toy donation an annual initiative.

“Next time, we hope to bring more toys,” he said.

Anyone who wishes to assist with any donation can contact the NGO coordinator, Ellen Attwell, on 084 016 8913.
