Woman robbed by armed intruders in Assagay home invasion

The intruders gained entry into the home through the kitchen window.

AN Assagay resident was lucky to survive a home invasion unharmed after she awoke to find two intruders in her home in the early hours of Friday morning (29 September).

Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said two intruders, one of them armed with a knife, gained entry into her Cadmoore Road home through a kitchen window.

“One of the robbers held her up at knifepoint while the other suspect gathered valuables including jewellery, an iPad, a cellphone, a wallet, a television and a bag full of shoes before fleeing the scene in a silver grey Toyota Tazz. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.

Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
