Join CROW for world clean up day

The clean-up will start at 9am this Friday, 8 September.

IN celebration of World Clean Up Day, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW), will team up with the Wilderness Leadership School to clean the Umhlatuzana River that runs through Kenneth Stainbank on Friday, 8 September.

CROW has seen many cases of innocent wildlife that succumb to their injuries caused by litter.

A Swift Tern was admitted to CROW with a fishing hook caught in his mouth. When the tern arrived at the centre, it was dehydrated and undernourished.

The CROW team managed to surgically remove the hook, but the tern was unfortunately too weak to survive the procedure.

If you would like to help CROW protect the environment and wildlife, join them at Kenneth Stainbank, a 253 hectare reserve established in 1963, on Friday.

The clean-up will start at 9am where staff will meet at the gates and make their way down to the river.

Along with your big smiles and big hearts, please take along a black bag, gloves and lots of water.
