The agreement will also make provision for the inclusion of all clubs that currently have tenure on the property.

ETHEKWINI Municipality city manager, Sipho Nzuza has been granted authority by council to proceed with the process of pursuing proposals, as per the approved eThekwini Municipality procurement policy, in respect of redevelopment of the Lahee Park Sports Precinct.

“The report which was tabled on Thursday, 31 August, at a full council meeting, also granted authority for Nzuza to enter into a lease agreement with Seagulls Swimming Club regarding the use of Lahee Park Sport Precinct. The agreement will also make provision for the inclusion of all clubs that currently have tenure on the property,” said eThekwini Municipality head of communications, Tozi Mthethwa.

“The report stated that in support of the proposal to redevelop Lahee Park Sport Precinct, the City rezones the property for sports and sport-related commercial use within six months of the submission of the project plans,” added Mthethwa.
