Art exhibition aims to protect rhinos
Artists are encouraged to use their imagination to come up with unique and fun designs for the rhinos.
The Rhinos Are Coming will host a three-month public outdoor art exhibition to protect and conserve rhino population through art.
The life-sized fibre glass rhino sculptures will be transformed into works of art by artists based in and around Cape Town.
The final artistic rhino sculptures will be auctioned at the end of the exhibition and the funds raised will go to StopRhinoPoaching.com an award winning anti-poaching NGO fighting to secure a safer future for rhinos.
“We encourage artists to use their imagination to come up with unique, fun, inspired designs for our rhinos, which will stampede through the Mother City in the Summer of 2017 and 2018,” said Janice Ashby, founder and programme director of The Rhinos are Coming.
Artists are invited to apply to be a part of the exhibition. They will be rewarded with a unique vehicle created by them for which they can devise exciting publicity, public relations and social media campaigns to spread awareness of their work.
