‘Ale’ of a time raises funds for Kloof SPCA

This year's Ale for Tails event raised nearly double last year's donation amount.

WITH the help of more than 50 home breweries and Tops Old Highway, Tops Village Vineyard and Tops Hillcrest, the Kloof and Highway SPCA raised an astounding R132 662.41 at its annual Ales for Tails fund-raiser.

“Tickets for this awesome event were sold out and it was a stunning day enjoyed by all,” said Brigitte Ferguson, the marketing and fund-raising officer at the Kloof and Highway SPCA. Guests were entertained by talented bands and musicians who donated their time and talents, these included No Fly Zone, Stone Palace, Templar Funk, The Name On The Drum, Josie Gold, The Silver Sailor, Swamp Ryders and The rocking doctor.

“A very special thank-you to our sponsors for this amazing event, to the brewers for donating their home brews to help raise funds, to all our staff, volunteers and donors for their contribution in making this event possible, and to everyone who came and enjoyed the day with us. Thank you,” said Brigitte.
