Rescued donkeys up for adoption

The donkeys have been homed at the Kloof and Highway SPCA since March.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA have nine precious donkeys urgently looking for their forever homes.

The herd was destined for slaughter for their skins and were rescued by the NSPCA earlier this year.

Their skins would be salted, packaged and transported to China where it would processed to obtain a gelatinous substance used to make Ejiao – an ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine and for cosmetics.

 

 

All nine of the donkeys were rescued from the donkey skin trade and are now looking forward to their happy ever afters.
