THREE armed men hijacked and robbed a Malvern man after they followed him home from a bank.

According to Warrant Officer Radhika Marimuthu, communication officer for Malvern SAPS, as he entered his driveway, he was accosted by three armed men who demanded cash and keys to the vehicle and they drove off with the vehicle.

“A case of armed robbery and carjacking has been registered and is subject to investigation,” added W/O Marimuthu.

Anyone with information in this regard must call Malvern SAPS on 031 4899624/4899629 or Crimestop on 0860010111.

“This carjacked vehicle was used a few days later in a crime in the Verulam area,” said W/O Marimuthu.

“The community is cautioned to be on the alert when drawing large sums of money from the bank. Where possible, avoid large withdrawals and instead opt for Man robbed and hicinternet banking,” said W/O Marimuthu.
