Main Meal Champs crowned on Mandela Day
Companies lined up to take part in the exciting cook off competition at the Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre recently.
THE Samsung Concept Stores in KZN, Gateway and Pavilion, recently joined forces to compete against other companies at the Mandela Day Cook Off at the Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre, all in the name of charity.
Team Samsung were the winners in the main meal category and walked away with the title of the Ethelbert Main Meal Champions. They couldn’t have done this without their little junior helpers from the children’s centre.

Other companies that competed, included CCI Growth, the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with a team from the South African Navy. Each meal was tasted by guest judges, Chef Rev Bahoti from Pop Up Society, Kathryn Buchanan, the chairman of Ethelbert, and Desmond Humphrey, Ethelbert Old Boys.
Jonathan Brauteseth, the PRO for the Samsung Concept Stores, said, “It was such a treat being able to spend time with the children and to cook with them. We can’t wait for the next one!”
