Westville Senior serves muscular dystrophy

You can also support the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation by purchasing one of its Casual Day stickers.

IN its second term, the learners at Westville Senior Primary School showed their support for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa KZN branch with a R3 000 donation.

The school’s principal, Richard Brown, said the school picked two charities to support in its second term and they chose Muscular Dystrophy as it is a worthy cause and there was a strong Westville connection.

“The school’s motto is that we shall serve and we believe this will teach our learners to reach out and help the community,” said Richard.

Heather Ainsworth, the administrator and fund-raiser for the KZN Branch, said this donation would go towards purchasing motorised wheelchairs.

The organisation recently donated three of these wheelchairs to its members and hopes to donate another one soon.

The organisation is taking part in Casual Day this year and will be selling stickers in the lead up to the event at Westville Mall on Thursday, 27 July and on Monday 28 August.
