Designers gear up for annual Durban Fashion Fair

Presented by the eThekwini Municipality as part of its successful Fashion Development Programme, the DFF is now in its sixth year of wowing designers, the media, fashion buyers and the public .

EXCITEMENT is building for the annual Durban Fashion Fair (DFF) 2017 where over 40 designers – including seven from Africa – will take to the ramp in 16 shows at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre from Wednesday, 23 August to Friday, 25 August.

The two-day show will be followed by the DFF Recognition Awards Show on Saturday, 26 August which honours and recognises the top designers and models participating in the DFF 2017.

Presented by the eThekwini Municipality as part of its successful Fashion Development Programme, the DFF is now in its sixth year of wowing designers, the media, fashion buyers and the public as it brings out the very best in local fashion with top class shows that allow local creative’s to strut their stuff alongside the best in the world.

To discover hidden talents that can put Durban on the fashion map as well as ensure that when it comes to design, Durban is a top contender, the eThekwini Municipality has invested substantial sums in internships, industry related training programmes, networking sessions as well as various lifestyle and modelling programmes and boot camps over the years, which the current “crop” of New Faces are now experiencing.

These models, who were scouted throughout Durban and its surrounds have been provided with invaluable training. They are now able to reach for their dreams and be presented with an opportunity to participate in high profile fashion shows such as the DFF.

From Tuesday, 1 August , catch the DFF New Faces Model Competition on the Facebook page to vote for your favourite model and stand in line to win double tickets to the opening night show.

Tickets will be on sale at Computicket from Tuesday, 1 August.
