AUDIO: Body found floating at Kloof Country Club’s dam

An autopsy will determine the cause of death.

THE body of a young man who was allegedly fishing for golf balls at the Kloof Country Club was discovered earlier today [Thursday, 8 June].

Andreas Mathios, community liaison officer at Blue Security said it is believed the man experienced difficulties and subsequently drowned in the dam at the country club.

“When search and rescue members got to the body, they discovered a whole lot of golf balls in his pants which could have weighed him down. It is believed that the body was there for the last two to three days,” said Andreas.

Pam Maybery, general manager of Kloof Country Club, confirmed the incident and said the young man was not an employee. The man’s identity is unknown at present.

SAPS are investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding a person who has been reported missing, is urged to contact the Pinetown SAPS on 031 325 5079.
