Disappointing service at UKZN

My daughter submitted her application for transfer four weeks ago and had no confirmation of this.

THE reported corruption at UKZN Westville all makes sense to me now.

They string you along.

We were told to apply early. We applied in Grade 11 and submitted every report, evidence of work experience, career assessments, etc.

We were told do work experience – it did not count. Do community service – it did not count.

On applying we were advised to apply for the B Soc Science as the second option if not accepted under Health Science and that would give us the edge over the current Grade 12s.

Obviously my daughter was not accepted as the course was full, which we accepted but now question.

She is doing her B Soc Science at Howard College and now discovers that she needs a minimum of 75 percent for every subject this year and only two or three students are accepted for transfer from one course to another.

She will also be placed behind the 2017 matrics for selection.

So the one year at their institution carries no weight but actually she is at a disadvantage, but they happy to take our fees.

Clearly this is another form of income generation.

It would have been better for her to sit at home, reapply on her 2016 matric mark and instead of a part time job, we could have given her the fees we paid as spending money for her to enjoy instead of the university.

She submitted her application for transfer four weeks ago and had no confirmation of this.

We are still trying to find out if the application has been captured or thrown away.

Then, on the other side of the coin, we are clearly not banking on the university in our area but have now applied to UCT.

Well no wonder this is rated the best in SA.

We applied online on Friday.

By Tuesday we had a response, wow is all I can say.

Clearly they know what they doing.

UKZN staff treat people as if they are doing you a favour and enjoy the fact that people grovel.

Sis on you UKZN
