Donation to get AACL pooches’ tails wagging

The staff, learners and parents of Westville Senior Primary School donated a slew of much needed dog food to the NPO.

THE Upper Highway-based organisation, the Animal Anti-Cruelty League, received a generous donation of much-needed pet food from Westville Senior Primary School recently.

The staff, parents and learners collected dog and cat food for the worthy charity.

“The AACL is an organisation involved with all aspects of animal welfare from providing shelter for abandoned and rescued animals, managing the control of feral colonies and undertaking an efficient adoption programme to carrying out animal educational programmes to learners at schools,” said the school’s headmaster, Richard Brown.

The AACL is based at 53 Artesia Avenue in Leckhampton Valley in Hammarsdale.

The NPO also prosecutes animal cruelty cases, assists lower income groups with animal sterilisations and rabies vaccines and visits underprivileged areas with mobile dipping trailers for the eradication of parasites and the treatment of mange.

The organisation relies on donations and if you would like to get involved, contact 031 736 9093.
