Fabulous reads – Bridget Jones is back with a bang… or two

Book review - There are laugh out loud moments scattered throughout the book, it is simple to read and the book will blitz by you in a flurry of pages.

Bridget Jones’s Baby (Bridget Jones #4), Helen Fielding, Penguin Random House, ISBN: 9781911214564

Renee Zellweger is amazing.

So wonderful, in fact that I could hear her narrating the entire book in my head.

This was my first foray into the exceptionally complicated singleton life of Bridget Jones and what a spectacularly thrilling journey it was.

Her life has taken a turn for the better as she’s reached her goal weight, has a lively group of supportive friends and is a successful career woman.

It’s full steam ahead for Bridget and there isn’t a single thing that could steer her off course, well, except perhaps bumping into the love of her life, Mark Darcy.

One chance encounter leads to a night of passion and rejection which leads to another night with another man.

Skip forward a few months and she finds herself pregnant and has no clue who the father could possibly be.

If, like me, you’ve watched the movies, fallen in love with the characters and have never read any of the books, pick up this novel straight away.
