New home creates world of hope

The extra building at the White House Community Care Centre will provide a safe space for another 50 people in need.

NON-profit organisation, The White House Community Care Centre, received a large anonymous overseas donation of R48 500, which has allowed it to begin its dream expansion.

The new building will allow them to accommodate another 50 residents. “There are currently 70 residents at the White House Community Care Centre. Each of the residents are abandoned, disabled, mentally challenged as well as adults and children with cerebral palsy,” said Adele Walters of the Centre.

Most of the residents at the organisation are from the King Edward, RK Khan and Clairwood Hospitals. “We are the only facility of its kind in KwaZulu-Natal, so we get calls daily to take more residents. We are even getting requests from Gauteng,” said Adele. She said the NPO relies heavily on donations and said their list of much-needed donations is never ending.

If you would like to make an in-kind or monetary donation, contact Adele on 083 461 1415, via e-mail at thewhitehouseinanda@gmailcom or visit its website at www.thewhitehousesouthafrica.org.za.
