Man stabbed in Kloof home invasion

Three men broke into a Kloof home and attacked the resident.

A KLOOF man was stabbed when he tried to fight off armed robbers during a home invasion on Tuesday morning.

Blue Security’s operations manager, Brian Jackson, said a resident was woken up by his tenant’s screams at about 3.20am.

“A gang of three burglars entered the tenant’s home through a window. The tenant woke up when he heard noises coming from one of the bedrooms. He went to investigate and was accosted by the men. One the men was armed with one of the tenant’s kitchen knives,” said Jackson.

The robbers attempted to tie him up but he resisted and put up a fight. Jackson said he was stabbed in the head and hands while fighting them off.

“The robbers fled the scene without taking anything,” he said. The tenant was taken to hospital.

Jackson advised residents to ensure all windows and doors are adequately secured and kept shut at night.

“It may be tempting to leave a window open due to the warm, summer weather but unfortunately, opportunistic criminals will take advantage if they think there is easy access into a property.”
