THE local singles and social club, the Dream Team, have chosen to follow the mantra that life only really begins after 50.
The group of more than 50 members chose to celebrate its first birthday with a night out in the Kloof town.
“I started it because I realised how many other lonely people there were out there. I am on my own and it is a great way to make new friends,” said the group’s founder, Elaine Kalil.
What may have seemed a bit ambitious to some, the group started with just seven people and after a year that number has more than quadrupled.
The members meet once a week and either go and watch rugby, go to the movies or attend a local function around the Highway area.
here is no entrance or joining fee. “We are just a good bunch of people and want to form great friendships,” said Elaine.
