THE potholes in our neighbourhood are something to behold Biggest in the RSA, well this is what I’m told. I found this hard to believe as I travel along far roads
Some filled with water, are even home to toads.
Potholes here and potholes there, lie gaping in the tar
So who can claim that ours are biggest, who will go so far.
Coming home last night I swung from the M 3
Reaching home along this road, easy, just routine.
And then I was upon them, gaping mouths ajar
Too late, I hadn’t seen them, hungry for my car.
So now will you believe me, I swear I’d had no brew
Dodged one, dodged another, then disappeared from view.
So from here dear neighbours, deep within the earth, my message clear and loud
The biggest potholes in the world are in Manors, be so proud.
