Five-car pile-up causes M13 traffic havoc

ELEVEN people were injured in a five-car collision on Field’s Hill, near the Gillitts on ramp, during peak hour traffic this morning.

Three light motor vehicles, a bakkie and a taxi rear-ended each other in the fast lane, causing a major traffic backlog.

The commuters were assessed and treated and injuries varied from minor to moderate.

“Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported,” said Russel Meiring, spokesman for ER24.
