R5000 reward for Layiah’s return

The tan, medium-sized dog went missing just after fireworks went off on new year's day.

A SAFE return home is all Layiah’s owners,  Wayne Barnard and Nadine van der Merwe, wish for. The six-year-old dog went missing a week ago just after midnight on new year’s day at Highland Hills, Fyfe Place.

“Two of our dogs went missing that night. Fortunately we found one at the shops nearby but there has been no luck with Layiah,” said Barnard.

The worried owner said it has been a difficult few days without his beloved dog and is offering a R5000 reward for finding Layiah.

“It’s been a hectic week. We’re literally up by 5am every day driving around, hoping to find her,” he added.

Layiah is a tan-colored, medium-size Africanis, with black markings on her back and tail.  She was wearing a thick leather collar with studs (which has a tag with her name and contact number of her owner) when she disappeared.

A Facebook page, Bring Home Layiah, shares detailed information about the missing pet to help spread the word far and wide.

If you might have seen Layiah around, contact Wayne Barnard on 079 882 6981 or Nadine van der Merwe on 072 638 6828.
