Fun splashes at Lahee Park
About 1 000 people visited Lahee Park during the festive season.
WITH Durban experiencing sunny weather over the few weeks, people flocked to their nearest swimming pools to cool off.
It is estimated that about a thousand people visited the Lahee Park Swimming Pool everyday during the festive season.
Many people visited the pool for a family fun-filled day.
Although there were minor issues, there were no serious injuries and no drownings. One of the residents said she has visited the swimming pool regularly because her children enjoy swimming and they enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
“We always come with our picnic baskets and spend almost the whole day here and it is safe for the children as the lifeguards are always around,” she said.
She pleaded with the officials to extend swimming hours during the public holidays as the pool closes when people still want to enjoy themselves.
