Lucky escape as vehicle rolls down embankment

The driver was unharmed and the passenger suffered minor injuries.

TWO people miraculously escaped any injury when the vehicle they were travelling in on the M19 rolled several times near the Otto Volek turnoff in Pinetown just before 8am today. According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics arrived at the scene and found a single vehicle had left the busy highway and rolled down the embankment.

“The driver was uninjured in the collision however the passenger in his mid 20s suffered minor injures and was transported to a nearby hospital,” said Jamieson.

The SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating the cause of the accident. The highway was cordoned off for an hour for the recovery of the vehicle.
