Malvern Scouts honoured for dedication

Devlan Govender and Dominic Nel were awarded by the Chief Scout for their achievements.

THE 1st Malvern Scout Group recently recognised two of its members for their perseverance and dedication. Devlan Govender and Dominic Nel’s achievements were acknowledged by Dr Dudley Forde, on behalf of the Chef Scout of South Africa, Sibusiso Vilane.

“Devlan received his Springbok Scout badge. This challenging award is the highest award a scout can earn, while 11-year-old Dominic was awarded his Leaping Wolf badge. This is the highest award a cub can earn,” said Guy Caws, 1st Malvern Group Scouter.

He added that both awards are the result of the hard work and commitment of the recipients. Govender, a scout for 11 years, is now an assistant Troop Scouter and a Rover.

The Awards were presented at a ceremony at KZN Scout Headquarters by Dr Forde, a member of the National Scout Executive.
