Westville Mall ordered to take down Christmas decor

There will be no Father Christmas at the local mall this year.

WESTVILLE Mall has been instructed to remove its Christmas decorations as it is believed to be a possible fire hazard. According to a source, whose name is known to the Highway Mail, the order to remove the decorations and Christmas tree came from an official at a local fire department.

“I believe the owners are seeking legal advice. It seems that this action has been taken as the mall does not have a sprinkler system, but it does still seem very petty as I don’t believe that there has been an incident before,” said the source.

The mall’s annual tradition of having a Father Christmas who listens to the wishes of children has also been banned. According to the source, this tradition has continued for 22 years.

Westville Mall has not responded to questions regarding this incident. Updates to follow.
