Congregation held up, robbed during service

The gang of armed robbers stole valuables from the members of the church.

FIVE armed robbers stormed a prayer meeting at a church in Pinetown and robbed the congregation of cellphones, vehicles and other valuables on Wednesday night.

Blue Security’s operations manager, Brian Jackson, said members of the congregation were praying in the church when the gang of armed men burst into the church and robbed them just after 6am. “The gang robbed the worshippers of cash, cellphones, jewellery and two vehicles. No injuries were reported,” he said.

The Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime and are investigating.
