Hillcrest company beautifies adopted spaces

The association encourages other businesses to also consider adopting a spot as they will have the opportunity to place advertising on the adopted area.

THE Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association has applauded the efforts of a local company which adopted and will maintain two spots in Hillcrest.

“The village of Hillcrest is very grateful to Miles Steenhuisen of Mass Landscapes who has spent much time and resources on his two adopted spots, the on-ramp and off-ramp to the M13 out of Hillcrest. Please take a moment to admire those two areas as you enter and exit Hillcrest,” said Marge Mitchell, chairman of the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association.

According to Marge, his staff work tirelessly to beautify the area. The association encourages other businesses to also consider adopting a spot as they will have the opportunity to place advertising on the adopted area.

“We are also making an appeal for sponsorship. These appeals have been well responded to in the past and for that we thank you. Just look at the gardens in Inanda Road on either side of the railway bridge to see what your sponsorship has created,” said a humble Marge.

The association is in need of cobbles stones, cement and Umgeni sand which will be used for the two adopted areas that Miles is maintaining. Miles will also enter the two spots into the competition for Garden of the Year, a competition which he has won previously. “With the help of the community we can ensure he wins again,” said Marge. “Thank you to those who continue to support the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association in either cash or kind.”
