No more ‘Crimetown’

If the crime situation is not sorted out, companies in the area will start to move away- Helen Cannon

EDITOR- I am so happy to hear that extra police will be patrolling around Home Affairs in Pinetown. They could do with a few permanent police along Josiah Gumede (Old Main Road) and Anderson Road area too. And a good clean-up of the rubbish littering the streets.

There is no excuse to have such a rampant crime problem in Pinetown. Just look at all the big companies located there and how much rates and taxes must be generated by them. The mind just boggles at the revenue that must be generated by these big companies.

It is also time to spruce up the Pinetown police station. On a recent visit there I was horrified at the state of the station. What a depressing and demoralizing place to have to work in. Our police deserve better.

Spare a thought for all the companies whose livelihoods have been affected, not just by the ongoing road works, but also because people are too scared to come to Pinetown these days. If the crime situation is not sorted out, these companies will start to move away.
