Highway Hospice receives R12500 donation

Naidu Consulting, structural and civil engineers in Westville, donated R12 500 to Hospice through funds raised at its quarterly braai.

HIGHWAY Hospice received a generous donation of R12 500 from Naidu Consulting Structural and Civil Engineers based in Westville on Friday, 19 August.

Morag Horne, the HR manager at Naidu Consulting, had worked for Highway Hospice many years ago, so when the company conducted its fundraiser quarterly braai during Mandela month, she decided the proceeds from the event should go to Highway Hospice.

“It was a fun event. The funds were raised through staff wanting to spray they hair during Mandela month. We choose Highway Hospice, because they care for terminally ill patients and rely solely on the community and sponsors to raise funds for the service they offer,” said Horne.

Heather Walker, main fundraiser at Highway Hospice, thanked the staff at Naidu Consulting for the donation and presented a short talk on what Highway Hospice is all about and why they desperately need support from the community.
