Baroque concert features Italian music

The programme of Italian music features the flute and four solo violins.

BAROQUE 2000 returns to the Church of the Monastery in Mariannhill on Sunday, 28 August at 11.30am to perform a programme of Italian music featuring the flute and four solo violins.

Guest artist, Evelien Ballantinem is the soloist in Francesco Mancini’s Sonata in D minor, and in Allesandro Scarlatti’s Sonata no 9 in A minor, both for flute and strings. The other works are Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto RV 234, L’Inquietudine, (Anxiety), soloist Ralitza Macheva, Giuseppe Valentini’s Concerto for four violins, and Francesco Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso op 3 no 1 in D.

Tickets are R140 at the door and the Monastery tea garden will be open before and after the concert. There is free and safe parking.
