Pamper experience leaves girls radiating confidence and smiles

The girls left sparking and smiling from ear to ear with a wonderful gift hamper to remember their pampering experience.

AN excited group of 10 girls from the Malvern Child and Youth Care Centre were treated to a morning of pampering, courtesy of Hair International, that left them radiating confidence and smiles. The salon shut its doors to outside business on Tuesdsay, 12 July, and focused its full attention on hair treatments, hair styling, manicures and painted nails for each of the girls.

“The purpose of my invitation was for the girls to feel special and to experience the inner confidence that is felt when a young lady looks after her personal grooming,” explained owner of Hair International, Christel Noble.

Girls like to feel special and beautiful and to help them hold onto their salon experience, Noble shared some tips on how to apply make-up, nail polish and how to care for their hair. “I also hoped that this experience would ignite a passion for the beauty industry and possibly be the beginning of a future dream. I shared my life story with them about how I struggled academically at school, but that today I have made a wonderful career in this field and the same could come true for anyone of them,” she added.

Lee Jarrett, PR and fundraising manager at Malvern Child and Youth Care Centre, said, “We would like to thank Christel for reaching out to these girls in such a meaningful way. We know that this pampering experience will not only be remembered, but that it will have a positive effect on their self-esteem and will help them to believe that they are loved and cherished.”

The girls left sparkling and smiling from ear to ear with a wonderful gift hamper to remember their pampering experience. “Our thanks and acknowledgement to Bianca Rohan, Kerry Lee Cherry Langley, Eva Saunders, Evonne Goal, Charmain Govender, Wenzel (of Revival Fellowship) and Jenifer Govender for the donations and support,” Jarrett added.
