RTI answers a local school’s cry for help

The pupils of iTshelimnyama entertained with music and dance.

THE Road Transport Inspectorate (RTI), Pinetown staff, celebrated Mandela Day by spending some of their 67 minutes with the pupils of iTshelimnyama Primary School.

The idea of Mandela Day was inspired by Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park in 2008 when he said, “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens. It is in your hands now.”

The primary school situated in Mariannhill recently opened its doors for pupils from underprivileged homes.

RTI donated stationery to the school and the pupils enjoyed lunch.

Ntombenhle Masuku from RTI said, “This event would not have been possible without the support and assistance from major sponsors and staff members.”

Acting principal, Miss Duduza Zwane, said, “We are very excited and glad to see that there are people who hear us when we cry out for help.”
