7 exciting things to do to round up July

The end of July is nearing; here are some activities to keep you entertained in the last winter stretch

THE end of July is nearing, here are some exciting events to keep you entertained during the cold winter days.

The Kearsney College Choir will be performing on Wednesday 27 July and Thursday 28 July in Henderson Hall at Kearsney College. Ticket prices are R50 each for unreserved gallery, R95 each for reserved gallery, R120 each for a table and R110 each for a table of 10. The doors will open at 6pm, a cash bar will be available, and food will also be on sale. Tickets are available on Computicket.

The Krantzkloof Nature Reserve offers a wonderful day out for the whole family with a range of beautiful animals and plants, as well as various walks and hiking trails. The Kloof Falls Road picnic site is open every day from 6am to 6pm and the Valley Drive picnic site is open on weekends only from 6am to 6pm. Entrance costs R25 each for adults and R15 each for children under 12.

Makaranga Garden Lodge in Kloof hosts Music at Makaranga and is featuring Micasa on Sunday, 24 July. Tickets cost R140 each and are available from Computicket. Children under 8 enter free if accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 12pm and the concert starts at 2pm. Take your family for a day or fun and music. No picnic baskets or alcohol. Picnic baskets may be ordered from the venue.

The first leg of the Amabutho Classic mountain bike and trail run race will be taking place on 23 July at Giba Gorge in Pinetown. Individual, family and corporate races are offered. Registration will take place from 7am to 8am and the races will begin thereafter. Register online: https://amabuthoclassic.co.za/. The South African Magical Society is hosting its annual showcase of magic, Magical Mayhem, at the Rhumbelow Theatre on Friday, 29 July at 8pm; Saturday, 30 July at 8pm and Sunday, 31 July at 2pm. This family friendly show promises to enthral new and old audiences. Tickets are R140 each or R120 each for block bookings of eight or more people. Tickets for children aged 5-13 are R70 each. Bookings can be made at Computicket and doors open an hour and a half before the show.

Kloof Musical Pops will be taking place on Friday, 29 July at 6.30pm in St Agnes Auditorium at St Agnes Church. The show promises an exciting evening of music featuring Platform Jazz, as well as the KZN Youth Orchestra. Tickets are R150 each for adults and R130 each for children under 18. Take along your picnic baskets and family for an enjoyable evening of music.

Greensleeves at Camelot in Hillcrest is famous for hosting its legendary Medieval Feasts. They offer a traditional medieval four-course meal and have a fully licenced bar. Costumes may also be hired from the venue on the day, an hour before the event and no deposit is required. The next feasts are being held on Saturday 23 and 30 July.
