VIDEO: KwaNyuswa artist shares his love for art

The children were excited to take their work of art home to show friends and family.

LOCAL artist Nicky Chovuchovu is holding a series of expressionism painting workshops for children at the Hillcrest Aids Centre Trust.

“My heart is actually in serving the community I live in KwaNyuswa and Embo,” Chovuchovu.

He is currently funding this project by himself so he has to charge to cover the costs of the materials.

“I accept some children even if they can’t afford this fee,” he said.

He intends to share his skills with women and the youth from low income households to help them make money, but he can’t do that without help from sponsors.

Tamuka Chovuchovu said, “I am very excited to take my art home and show it to my friends.”

Nicky said a trick to a good painting is a clean brush and clean water.

The mirror that some of the children were working on will be put in the Woza Moya shop for shoppers to use when shopping for jewellery.

For bookings contact Nicky on 072 596 5999, paint, brushes and a painting board are provided.
