Family killed in N3 crash

At this stage it is unclear what caused the vehicle to hit the pillar.

THREE people, a father, mother and son, were killed in a horror crash on the N3 near Paradise Valley in Pinetown yesterday, (Sunday, 16 July).

According to Rescue Care Paramedics, operations director, Garrith Jamieson, a car smashed into a a concrete pillar on the N3.

“Two of the patients were entrapped in the wreckage and sustained severe injuries and were declared dead on the scene. “One patient sustained critical injuries and Rescue Care’s advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise the man on the scene, however due to the severity of his injuries, he too passed away on the scene,” he said.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the vehicle to hit the pillar. The SAPS accident investigating unit were on scene and will be investigating.
