KHBA”s sponsors create employment

The local non-profit organisation helps to keep Hillcrest clean and beautiful.

TO mark its 10th anniversary, the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association handed out certificates of appreciation to its local sponsors.

“Because of them the Association has remained viable, and ensuring that its can continue with its mandate of keeping our lovely area beautiful,” said Marge Mitchell, chairman of the non-profit organisation.

The support provided by its sponsors also ensures that it can continue to employ Zukisane and Songezile Nathaza, who work conscientiously in the Hillcrest area’s gardens. “Many people have made favourable comments regarding their work rate and dedication,” said Marge.

The aim of the organisation is to maintain the natural beauty in and around Hillcrest and its volunteers tackle issues such as littering, graffiti, invasive alien plants, illegal signage, and they try to promote beautiful verges. “With the capacity for service delivery stretched to the limit in many parts of eThekwini, our KHBA volunteers do what they can to assist the municipality in maintaining Hillcrest as an attractive and appealing destination,” said Marge.
