WFC pupils step it up for annual walkathon

The pupils at Waterfall College were excited to get involved in this year's fundraiser walkathon.

THIS year’s Waterfall College walkathon saw an excellent number of laps by Tyron Dolloway, a Grade 8 pupil who is also a keen member of the school’s cross-country team.

He astounded his classmates with a total of 19 laps in two hours. The top girl runner, Candice Leslie, equalled last year’s number of laps at 14 in two hours. Each lap is approximately one km around the Waterfall College school campus.

It was a spectacular winter afternoon, with staff and parents more involved in the event than ever before. The Walkathon is a major fundraising effort for the school. The school’s principal, Jeanette van der Merwe, said, “Once again we have raised the bar. Well done to all our pupils for their exemplary behaviour, wonderful school spirit and physical effort on the day, making our annual Walkathon another great success. We are also grateful for the wonderful parent support on the day.”
