Rotary Club of Kloof inducts new president

The guest speaker was local historian, Robin Lamplough, who spoke on Some Myths of Kloof.

THE Rotary Club of Kloof inducted its new president at the 36th annual induction dinner, this year held at the Kloof Country Club.

Don Perks is the new incumbent, taking over from outgoing president, Engela Louw.

There were a number of awards on the night. Ian Foster was named Kloof Rotarian of the Year, Ian Forbes was presented with The Rock for his dependable stability behind the scenes and Gordon Rechner received a trophy for being the Most Enthusiastic Rotarian this year.

Denzil Bradley was given the wooden spoon for ‘being a stirrer, in a good way’, and Gretchen McCormick was presented with a bouquet of flowers with thanks for her support of outgoing president, Engela Louw, and her editorship of the club’s newsletter, the Echo. The Rotary Ann’s president, Andrena Foster, was also presented with a bouquet and she was praised for her commitment to the Anns and the club and her exemplary leadership.
