Water supply interruption in southern parts of eThekwini
Water tankers have been dispatched to these areas.
THE heavy rainfall experienced over the weekend has caused damage to the city’s bulk pipelines which is affecting water supply to the following areas in eThekwini:
•Parts of Northdene
•Chatsworth
•Shallcross
•Klaarwater
•St Wendolin’s
•KwaNdengezi
•Dassenhoek
•Milky Way
•Parts of Tshelimnyama
•Savannah Park
•Hlanganisa Road
•Intake Road
•Luganda
To minimise the impact of the water interruption, water tankers have been dispatched to these areas.
“We appeal to the public to allow the tankers to drive through the affected area in order to reach everyone.
Technical teams are working tirelessly to address the matter. All efforts are being made to stabilise the water supply to ensure that it is reinstated as soon as possible,” said Tozi Mthethwa, head of communications.
The municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and assures all residents that the matter is receiving urgent attention.
